Meditation Training
Meditation training is offered as a foundation for all counseling within the psychospiritual development work. There is an ongoing class and one-on-one training is available.

The training covers three main types of meditation: shamatha (calming the mind while focusing on an object, such as breath), vipassana (insight), and open awareness (allowing everything equal focus through relaxation). Different types of Taoist and Qi Gong meditations will also be presented. Meditation will be experienced, with the eyes opened and closed, in different postures; sitting, standing and lying on the floor.

During meditation, you are encouraged to relax cognitive perception so that a more body-centered ease of being can be experienced and cultivated. By slowing down, gently breathing and bringing attention inward toward your head, heart, hara and whole body, a more intimate and connected way of being opens within yourself. This encourages your natural embodied state, rather than the hurried, isolated, disembodied, overly intellectual living our culture has embraced as normal.

The meditation trainings will explore breathwork, movement, guided navigation into the body, dialogue as well as silent sittings. In our group gatherings, as well as in the one-on-one sessions, a loving, supportive and nurturing space is always offered for our practice.
"Meditation is known as the "Great Medicine" and is the first branch of the eight branches of Chinese medicine. "
